announces a grant program for net.art

It is with pleasure and honour that we are announcing this grant program, focused on supporting the development of net.art endeavours by www.vuk.org.

Presentation of www.vuk.org

www.vuk.org is a private, non for profit organisation, based in Ljubljana, Slovenija, focused on development of net.art and related areas of free thinking and creativity. It is a combination of a think tank and an artists studio, working continually on various types of output such as web sites, fruitwear, short stories, graphic design, or mailing lists, offering in this way a consistent contribution to the global community's search for quality and peace in life.

Eligibility

In determining eligibility for funding, the individual (art historians, art theorists, art critics, curators, gallerists and museologists) or institution (galleries, museums, art centres, festivals, magazines and newspapers, faculties, media labs) must meet a majority of the following criteria:
  • Meets critical community needs.
  • Demonstrates a specific need for supporting www.vuk.org and has sound financial management.
  • Directly impacts or benefits key communities around the world where www.vuk.org has a presence.
  • Shows previous history of support demonstrating high-quality, effective programs.
  • Potential for collaboration or co-operation with other nonprofits or groups with a similar mission.

Restrictions

www.vuk.org does not receive funding from the following:
  • Sectarian or religious activities.
  • Political campaigns or causes.
  • Local chapters of national organisations.

Funding Modalities

Individuals and institutions are invited to fund www.vuk.org in various ways, according to their profiles:

money

Support in cash is most welcome, and no limitations on sum or period are imposed by www.vuk.org

hardware and software

The area of hardware and software is most delicate, so the applicants should contact www.vuk.org for more detailed instructions and evaluation of the proposed grant.

housing

Funding that would be offered in form of housing will be supported only if the strict geographical and aesthetical standards of www.vuk.org are met. No time restrictions are imposed.

writing

Those individuals (art historians, art theorists, art critics, curators, gallerists, museologists...) that are applying for funding in the form of writing are kindly requested to notify www.vuk.org of the exact nature of the writing projects. Publication of writings in art related magazines is strongly supported.

invitations

Invitations to conferences, festivals, art schools, art centres, media labs and other related events or institutions, are among eligible funding options.

Deadlines

The www.vuk.org experts board is in constant contact and all submissions are evaluated on arrival, which allows applicants to apply at any time of fiscal or academic year.

Formal proposals must include the following:

  • Amount (housing, hardware/software, writing) offered.
  • How proposal matches funding interests of www.vuk.org.
  • Strategy to secure full funding for project.
