does PIS DRINK offer? (for public use only)

a toast to an exclusive street event of distinguished endurance and with a
guaranteed tranquilising effect. In case you may not be satisfied with our

What is PIS DRINK as an event? (for organisational
purposes only)
PIS DRINK is a "naive" street-performance that deals with the
ascend and downfall of a sales product. It covers not only the product's (medial
and concrete) production and sales but also its (self)destruction - as well
as the decline of the protagonists that revolve around its existence. The
event combines medial (audiovisually manipulated) and performative (acted
and improvised) strategies of critique on consumption-as-cultural-process.
With balanced portions of irony and overt criticism it tries to reflect and
simultaniously deconstruct the audiences'/participants need, attention and
consumption. Some essential elements of this naive may be found in direct
man-media(-man) interaction on stage as well as in the audience's contribution
to this mediatised and yet so present affair. A seeming coherence of audiovisually
manipulated and bodily/publically present reality is exposed through the confrontation
with the product itself and its surrounding characters.
What does PIS DRINK need? (technical considerations)
For the street performance it needs to be provided on the part of the
organisers:
- a flat and dry street space of min. 10 x 6 meters (preferably in front
of shopwindows in a busy part of town)*;
- a device for displaying visual computer output (s-video/RGB)
as a large monitor or TV (min. 65 cm diag.) or data-projector*;
- a large table or working bench of 100 x 200 cm (+/- 50 cm);
- a normal eating/writing table of 50 x 120 cm (+/- 20 cm),
- five chairs (backed);
- 220V plug max. 3m from a side edge of the performance space;
- sound system (speakers+amplifyer), sufficiently amplifying computersound*;
