DAY 5 - Last chance to learn

This was the last chance, to try tricks in practice debates. Is knifing a good strategy? Well, if you did not try it, don't to it on the Turnaments, that starts on day 6. So come back to see some more pics and the results of the Tournament. Pictures come shortly.

DAY 4 - Ask the USA if you dare

Next to every day lectures, worshops and practice debate, the day was something special.
Meeting with the Ambasador of the USA in Slovenia mr. Thomas B. Robertson. Without the USA we would probably speak Russian, German or Serbian on this even is one of the things he told us, to start sparks in our mind, as he staded. Of course, questions from the debaters were no jokes, so he had to find answers on why the USA bombed civilian buildings in Serbia (remember China ambasy?), why spreading human rights and democracy means torture and using Chemical weapons etc. He behaved as a good Ambasador, defendig the USA stand point, some say in a good, some say in a not so good way. Pictures come shortly.

DAY 3 - Take a breath if you find time

If you have seen the schedule, you know, that ZiP and WDI are not making jokes, when it comes to work on the academy. But any how, to take a break and get to know something new about the hosting city, we got to meet the Mayor of Slovenj Gradec.

DAY 2 - Hello hard work

Theres not much time to lose at a 7 days debate event, so the real work starts right away. Morning lectures are a every day thing, so they surprised us today in the midle of the night folowed by the workshops, some of them aslo included winning a new BMW.

DAY 1 - Getting Started

After all the arriving and Simon and Primož (aka Sunshine) doing all the logistics, the first day was not only fun, but first workshops started, and for all of us getting warmed up for debating, the first exhibition debate was presented.
Debate academy is all about meeting people, getting to know new cultures and cultural differencies, and of course getting to know the country, where you traveled to.
