Next to every day lectures, worshops and practice debate, the day was something special.
Meeting with the Ambasador of the USA in Slovenia mr. Thomas B. Robertson. Without the USA we would probably speak Russian, German or Serbian on this even is one of the things he told us, to start sparks in our mind, as he staded. Of course, questions from the debaters were no jokes, so he had to find answers on why the USA bombed civilian buildings in Serbia (remember China ambasy?), why spreading human rights and democracy means torture and using Chemical weapons etc. He behaved as a good Ambasador, defendig the USA stand point, some say in a good, some say in a not so good way. Pictures come shortly. |

After all the arriving and Simon and Primož (aka Sunshine) doing all the logistics, the first day was not only fun, but first workshops started,
and for all of us getting warmed up for debating, the first exhibition debate was presented.
Debate academy is all about meeting people, getting to know new cultures and cultural differencies, and of course getting to know the country, where you traveled to. |
