   bb-gbr-068.jpg Apes’ Den (Queen’s Gate) one has the rare opportunity of seeing free-ranging monkeys at close quarters. The apes are tailless, known as Barbary Macaques and together with the ones in Morocco and Algeria (where they are found wild) are the only free-ranging ones in Europe. Since 1915 the Government of Gibraltar is taking care of them and feeds them. The friendly Apes have lived in Gibraltar for over two centuries. |
