My brother directed me to Caving club Železničar when I was in high school (I have been a member since 1987)  and made me enthusiastic about speleology. He also introduced me to photography. I took interest in cave photography soon after first caving expeditions and spent a few years learning and gaining expirience. In this times of classic photography this procedures  took  a »little« longer, then today, when we use »instant«, digital photography.
I read speleological literature with great interest and thought highly of Urs Widmer's and Kevin Downey's mastership. I made first serious attempts at caving photography at the begining of 1990, when i bought secondhand Olympus OM-2sp and later on a OM-4ti. Both still work perfectly, in spite of extremly difficult caving conditions. I am probably one of the last »fools«, who photograph caves on slides. But just one look at the slide, or the projected image, makes all the troubles worth-while.
At first, I photographed caving actions, but later on the actions were meant especially for photography. I couldn't afford it without long standing help of my friends from caving club.
At this type of photography you can't do much alone. You can experiment and move electronic flashes till you drop, but unless you have at least one human figure, you can't authentically show dimensions of a caving space. Of course, stalactites, details and macrophotography are a different story all together.
Cave photography is a very tiresome thing. Anyone, who has already visited caves, could get acquinted  with »the real darkness«. And I'm not talking about visiting cave in Postojna in a little touristic train, I'm talking about visiting underworld with carbide or electric lamp on your helmet.
In spite the fact, that my equipment present constant unnecessary burden and that I curse my muddy transportation bag and tripod countless times, I still look forward every caving expedition with great joy. You never forget photographing and illuminating broad spaces filled with stalactites or narrow, muddy places encompassed in eternal darkness, for the rest of your life.
I took part in many competitions and achieved visible results, wrote some articles about cave trips and published photos in many magazines and books, but I don't exhibit much. This kind of exhibitions take a lot of your time and energy but sadly, scarce visit and poor interest can disappoint you. Well, at least the openings are usually well visited. Nevertheless I was pleasantly supprised by some nice thoughts in the impression book at the Cankarjev dom exhibition. I am enthusiastic about multivisions (classic and digital) and lately, stereophotography.
As a designer and a photographer of a computer magazine Monitor, I came across digital photography in 1998, when we »retired« classical photography and began with digital photography of  products. Later I started writting articles about digital photography and testing digital SLRs for Monitor magazine which I still do today. I'm still not convinced, in spite of its quality and many possibillities of snap shot treatment. But maybe I'll be surprised in the future.
