Summary
LESBO is a Slovenian lesbian, political, social and cultural non profit quarterly. Its founder and publisher is the lesbian group ŠKUC-LL. The editress in chief is Nataša Velikonja, the design editress is Irena Woelle.

The 7th issue of LESBO starts with Keiko Suzukis’s article "Damage Control". Strictly politically oriented section “Llobby” is dealing with political concerns and relations between the state and same-sex oriented persons, reflections on the local gay and lesbian scene, groups or movements etc. Sara Lubej (“Kako je lezbijkam v šoli“) writes about the experience with lesbian and gay issues in school system in Slovenia. Biljana Bijelić (“Homoseksualnost v hrvaškem tisku”) analyses the status of homosexuality in printed mass media in today’s Croatia. In her short article Coyote (“Ponižanje osebnega dostojanstva”) describes an event on the basis of racism, which happened in Ljubljana.

In the media-mirror (“Akcija – Reakcija”) Nataša Velikonja cites and comments lesbian concerned articles published by Slovene mass media.

In the section “Spektakli” which deals mainly with the cultural and social lesbian scene Varja Požar (“Echobelly”) presents two members of the rock group Echobelly. Urška Recer (“Zelena lezbijka gre v svet”)writes in a rather humorous manner about her first IGLYO conference in Amsterdam. Nataša Sukič Vegan (“Čas je za Guerillo”) presents the newest book edition of Guerilla Girls (The Guerilla Girls Bedside Companion on the History of Western Art) and talks about the importance of reinterpretation of the role of lesbians in the art history. Suzana Tratnik (“Lezbične študije”) brings the article about lesbian studies, Katarina Višnar presents the newest CD Lost in Space, Divaz’nBass and finally Coyote (“Scena”) shortly presents Club Monocle and Club K4.

The main topic of the 7th issue of Lesbo magazine is the question of gay and lesbian equality in the society. Tatjana Greif writes about the most important issues concerning the anti-discriminatory legislation in Europe and analyses the topic of civil and human rights of same-sex oriented citizens in the programs of political parties in the Republic of Slovenia.

The section “Interakt” brings the interview with Dr. Milica G. Antič, professor at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, concerning her book “Women in Parliament”. The second interview is an interesting discussion with Sadie Lee, important painter from London.

In the last section “Pornovizija” Jelka Zorn (Homoseksualnost: (de)konstrukcija spola in seksualnosti”) deals with the construction and deconstruction of gender and sexuality; Nataša Sukič Vegan (“Kiber-feminizem”) deals with the subject of post- and cyber-feminism.

The special insert of this issue is a booklet “Istospolne družinske skupnosti” about same-sex families and legislation in regard to them. It was published with the help of the Ministry of work, family and social affairs RS.
