The Four Questions of Melancholy was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

Šalamun has over 30 poetry books in translation. His next poetry collection Feast, edited by Charles Simic and introduced by Edward Hirsch, will be published by Harcourt & Brace in Spring 2000.
