At Monodrama Festivals in Otesevo and Bitola - Kurkinski and Sokolovic the Winners

(Vecer, 14.07.2003) - Pronouncing Bulgarian Marius Kurkinski the winner of Europe’s Actor closed the First International Monodrama Festival in Otesevo. A jury including Jacque Lacarier, Krikor Asaryan and Petar Mircevski was of opinion that Kurkinski’s performance of “The Dream” by Julian Burns was top acting achievement. He will be handed a special recognition of merit at the Day of Theatre next year. Europe’s Actor was held at the Evropa Hotel in Otesevo on July 8 through 11 with the participation of the actors: Filip Ristovski, Bajrus Mijaku, Catherine David, Ljuba Tadic, Marius Kurkinski, four French actors, Mirus Kabasi, Zijah Sokolovic, Kostas Gakides, Tatijana Lemes and Elena Mose. The Fifth International Monodrama Festival in Bitola was held from July 7 through 11 in organization of the Culture Centre in Bitola. A festival jury including: Mina Masur, Todor Kuzmanov and Blaze Pavlovski pronounced Zijah Sokolovic the best actor. Sokolovic performed “The Bear” by A.P.Chekhov. His presentation of Chekhov’s famous work was full of “volcanic energy and vitality.” Marius Kurkinski, Filip Ristovski, Stojan Arev, Kostas Gakides, Vesna Dimitrovska, Elena Mose, Ljuba Tadic, Tatijana Lemes, Zijah Sokolovic and Marius Kabasi took part in the festival. Sokolovic won 500 euros as the best actor.
