Slovenian Rural Youth Association (Zveza slovenske podeželske mladine)
is a voluntary assoc
iation of Slovenian rural youth societies. Slovenian Rural
Youth Association is politically and ideologically undefined youth organisation. Members
of Slovenian Rural Youth Association are those who are members of rural youth societies.
Slovenian Rural Youth Association’s intentions are:
- uniting rural youth societies and co-ordinating their work;
- striving to enliven traditional values based on the respect of the family, home and
nature;
- preserving material and spiritual heritage of peasantry;
- introducing its members with the necessity of congruent economic and cultural
development of the countryside, especially in economically undeveloped areas;
- striving for congruent development of countryside by using environmentally friendly
farming methods;
- reviving old customs and drawing attention of young people living in urbanities;
- linking with same or similar societies, movements or youth organisations home and
abroad;
- taking part in educational process as to spread the knowledge from agricultural colleges
and other field institutions among its members.
Slovenian Rural Youth Association’s tasks are:
- taking care of co-ordination and spreading information among societies;
organising seminars in the fields of farming, environment protection, housekeeping,
social policy, undertaking and legislation for its membership;
organising courses for its membership;
organising old customs and habits performances and ethnographic performances for wider
public;
organising excursions for its membership;
organising social events for its membership.
The association carries out all its tasks with implementation of
projects and activities which are being done by societies affiliated to Slovenian
Rural Youth Association.
Slovenian Rural Youth Association is a member of European Committee for
Young Farmer’s and 4H Clubs (ECYF4HC).
