Thanks for this exellent second issue of your magazine Platrofma-SCCA about Manifesta in our backyard! I hope and I am sure the indepth discussions about the Manifesta exhibitions and network in your magazine contribute to a larger and more broad online/ongoing discussions and exchange of information about Manifesta as a Biennial. The International Foundation is working on the development of a more structural (virtual)platform for Manifesta to integrate an ongoing discussion, transparent and available for everyone involved; including former, current and future Host Cities, local organisations, former curators and artists. Due to former lack of financial resources to create a more structural platform for the International Foundation Maniesta and the focus on the establishment and the development of Manifesta, the Biennial, this necessary platform has not yet been executed. We are convinced this will be realised within the next Biennium and hoping to be able to cooperate within organisations like the SCCA- Ljubljana in this. We keep you posted about this subject.

i\'m surprised about so many video works exhibited at manifesta 3 ... about big number of them being socialy conserned (and in a quite politically corect way - problematics of minorities is prevalent)... about big number of them using a kind of documentary approach. the overall impression is that there is a lot of (mostly just) demonstrations of different social problematics, cultural studies (a lot of them even not good one) ... a wish to grasp, to come closer, to understand better, to help, to change maybe something in every day life problematics but for me too often in a \"war-turism\" way ... soft engagment in a safe \"art-pool\" ... it seems that documenting the reality in a very literary way is invading the art production nowadays ... is this a kind of a new \"social realism\" ?it seems that culture invades art ... how do you understand the growth of (socialy concerned) video documentaries in contemporary art production? ursa jurman
