Gay
Slovenia - Legislation
In Slovenia, homosexual
acts with consession have been decriminalised in 1976. Since then, all
(sexual) acts have been theoretically equalised. The legal consent age
in Slovenia is 15; for heterosexual and homosexual relations.
Slovenia is a democratic
country by definition where everyone shares equal rights and no discrimination
takes place. OK; that's in theory - the Slovenian constitution guarantees
human rights, Penal code and the UN declaration of human rights also forbid
any violations of equality and discrimination.
In real life, however,
situation is a bit different; Slovenian gays cannot marry, have children
or share some other rights straight couples do.
