Comics: Born in 1973, Stephane Blanquet is the author of many comics books ("Mon Placard","Guimauve", "Viande Froide et Cie", "A l'intérieur... des tętes" and "Mon Méchant Moi"...) edited by independent publishers (L'Association, Cornélius, Jochen Enterprises, Le Dernier Cri, Tabasco Carrasco, Les étoiles et les cochons...). Moreover, Blanquet is mostly the only one among the french drawers to works in U.S. comics: Zero Zero and Blab! (Fantagraphics Books), Last Gasp Comix...
Illustrations: The graphic out of line world of Blanquet appealed many french papers and magazines: Libération, Maximum, Nova Magazine, Les Inrockuptibles, Télérama...
Objects: Blanquet likes weird objects. Indeed, since his first exhibitions, added to his drawings and paintings, he's always made sculptures, "theater-boxes", "salt pastry-paintings"... Lately, he made a two faces monster doll!
Animation film: Since a few months, Blanquet produces animations short-films: "Le mélange des couleurs" for "Le Dernier Cri" and four séquences for "Vivement l'an 2000". These movies have all been broadcast on the channel Canal+ France (l'Oeil du Cyclone, Nawak). Blanquet now works on the adaptation of his book "Mon Placard"...
Publishing: Blanquet runs with Olive "le Chacal Puant", publisher of Julie Doucet, Mike Diana, Henriette Valium, Blex Bolex, Placid, Matt Konture, Brad Johnson, Caroline Sury, Paquito Bolino, Matti Hagelberg, Anne Van Der Linden... Still in the context of his editings, Blanquet publishes "La Monstrueuse", a review in the US comics format which was awarded in 1996 by L'Alph Art du Fanzine during the comics festival of Angoulęme.
Blanquet Web: Since January 97, the BlanquetWeb allows him to exhibit his many-sided work plus many unpublished drawings...
