Trate vaše in naše mladosti: zgodba o mladinskem
rock klubu
("Trate of Your Early Life, and Ours - A Story of a Rock Youth Club")
(2 books, 600 pages, in Slovene language, illustrated, published in 2000)
In an extensive work is actually a continuation of the first study (Frontier 007). Muršič scrutinizes various uses of music in the second half of the 20th century. In the core of the book is located a small village Trate, situated in Slovenske gorice, a hilly region in the North Eastern Slovenia. At Trate (in translation it would be Grasslands) the first Slovene punk club was established. At that place the story of the punk-rock group CZD started along with the story of the club. Muršič tries to track the dynamics of relationships between young clubbers and local population, how the popular music was introduced into rural community, the influences it exerted on the village identity, and finally the re-actions of individuals and local authorities. The book contains detailed descriptions of some popular music genres, it deals with the key issues of sub-cultural movements within youth and popular culture and the role of music in contemporary society. Last but not the least, it presents an example of the possibilities of the application of music within anthropology science.
