SUBKULTURE:
prispevki za kritiko in analizo družbenih gibanj,
I. št. "SUBCULTURES, Supplementary Texts related to Critique and Analysis
of Social Movements"
(144 pages, in Slovene language, illustrated, published in 2002)
The book presents texts by the youngest generation of sociologists.
The authors deal with the notion of "subculture" (Matjaž Kovačič,
Andrej Naterer), face the phenomenology of the two subcutlures: historical and
current Eastern European subculture (Klavdija Šipuš, Andrej Naterer) or reflect
sociological aspects of the new religiosity (Miran Lavrič). Various social practices
of the second half of the 20th century demonstrate that contemporary societies
and their cultures are not to be understood from a mono cultural point of view.
The contemporary societies and their subsystems are becoming more and more specialised
and differentiated and the cultures get fragmented. One culture only does not
presents the only source for an individual any more. Individuals build cultural
strategies by means of their own (sub)cultural networks. People are not obliged
by grand ides and cultures any more - nowadays we are indebted to ourselves,
to our own creativity and a need for self-realisation.
