The book consists of the selected chapters of the diary during the author's terrain work at Hawaii, thus presenting an insight into the first terrain exploration in the field of anthropology conducted by an anthopologist from Eastern Europe in Hawaii. The subject of her research was not only Hawaii natives but also Americans, the elitist fraction of Hawaii society.
