For four weeks this July members of the Slovenian arts collective NSK (Irwin and Eda Cufer) together with the group of artists and curators from the USA and Russia (Mary Jane Jacob, Mark Pauline, Rirkrit Tiravanja, Alexander Brener, Vadim fiskin, Yuri Liederman, Viktor Misiano, Goran Dordevic, Eda Cufer, Irwin, Michael Benson) wil will hit the road in two equipped vans, starting in Atlanta and ending up at the West Coast. Irwin and Eda Cufer will organise five or more events in different parts of the USA (in Atlanta, Richmond, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle). The whole Transnationala project will focus on communication among entities from different cultural, social and political backgrounds, and the events will be in the form of one or two day events, discussions, lectures, screenings, etc., at various locations: hotels, private apartments, galleries... The topics of the discussions will be prepared in advance. Reports from the journey, including the most important parts of the events and discussions, will be filed via computer link to Atlanta (where Irwin will have an exhibition), and also to the Rotterdam Manifesta. (At the Manifesta a specially constructed vehicle (called "Left, Right, Up, Down") designed by Irwin will bear a TV monitor, transmitting televised "letters" from the Transnationala journey..
