It started on Friday, February 7. 1997. After gathering on the usual place we headed West. Our first surprise on our travel was the manner the German custom-officers treeated us. For half an hour we did not dare to breathe because of the presence of a sheep-dog who was showing his teeth all the time. It should also be mentioned the custom officers considered us a sports club. Unfortunately they did not trust us the kind of sports we were to deal with - we would have a wise suggestion for changing our activity.
The nights were short. Who can sleep in a strange town, with so many interesting things happening? At daylight the town was clearly seen up to its highest buildings, but at night the happening on the ground was much more interesting.
There was a lot of singing. After a concert we would usually sing additional parts, which we could not refuse to sing after such ovations. After the formal parts the invisible barrier between the audience and us vanished and we would - with a lot to drink and eat - party till late hours. Both the Slovenes living in Germany and us - were glad to meet.
Particularly beautiful is Ingolstadt in the sunlight. Who can imagine Bavaria without its castles and other sights! In the last afternoon of our staying some went sightseeing others to do shopping and sending post-cards. Not as many were sent as the previous year from Paris.
On our way home we stopped in Munich and did some panoramic sightseeing as we did not have enough time. Long shadows were a sign the day was at its end and as well our tour.
We would like to thank everyone who enabled our tour, especially the Slovene communities in Stuttgart and Ingolstadt, and the priests Mr. Janez Sket and Mr. Stanislav Gajsek. Special thanks to the Emigrant society Slovenia and its secretary Franci Kadivc who accompanied us on our tour.
