The documenta Archiv is an institution sponsored by the city of Kassel established to document twentieth century art in all its existing formats. It encompasses a specialist library for contemporary art, a picture library, a video library, an artothek as well as a wide range of other documents concerning the history of the documenta. Since late 1995 the documenta Archiv, Kassel has been working together with the firm CIS GmbH, Würzburg on the completion of a CD-ROM about the history of the documenta, which will be presented at the beginning of June, 1997 under the title "documenta^1-9 - Profiling 4 decades of exhibition history".
