Information from the Guided tours and visitor service Group tours (to be booked in advance)
Locations: Kulturbahnhof, Museum Fridericianum, Ottoneum These guided tours must be booked at least two days in advance. The minimum length of such a tour is one hour. If desired, tours lasting two, three, or four hours can also be arranged (these tours include breaks). You will be accompanied by specially trained art historians who will give you an overview of the exhibition and of the history of documenta, introduce you to the special features of documenta X, and answer any questions you may have about the exhibition. These special group tours are available in the following languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch. Ask us about tours in other languages. These one-hour tours, which are only given in German, are offered in the Kulturbahnhof, the Museum Fridericianum, and the Ottoneum. Introductory lectures
Location "Kleines Bali" cinema in Kassel's Kulturbahnhof
Visitors who want to go through the exhibit independently but who still want background information about documenta can attend a 45 minutes introductory lecture. Topics include the history of documenta, the context of documenta X, and an overview of the exhibition's structure, focuses, and highlights. The lectures have been specially developed to summarize the most important aspects of documenta X. Here, too, you will be able to ask specific questions about how to orient yourself at the exhibition. Tickets for these lectures are available at the door or in the tour service office. Groups of 15 or more can also reserve seats with the visitor service. Parcours package

Halle In order to get a complete picture of the exhibitions, events, and projects of documenta X, we recommend that you book a "parcours package." This package o¤er includes a one-hour introduction and a two-hour trip through the main parts of documenta with short visits to the exhibitions in the Kulturbahnhof and the Museum Fridericianum. Special tour programs:
Price: 7 DM/hour/person; minimum 80 DM/hour Special tour programs are available for teenagers, children, school groups, students, the handicapped, and senior citizens. These tours must be booked at least seven days in advance. The tour service will provide pedagogically trained personnel for tours with children and teenagers. Our tour guides have been trained for senior citizen programs. In addition, special programs for the handicapped are available (for example, tours for the blind and the deaf).

from the west: Special services: The visitor service also offers an official dX V.I.P. service for those guests who have extra special needs during their stay dX V.I.P. service in Kassel and at documenta X: Among other things, the V.I.P. service offers the following: a chauffeur service, an airport limousine, travel planning, hotel reservations, exclusive evening entertainment in Kassel and its surroundings, and special visitor and guest programs at documenta X. Detailed information about these offers is available from the guided tours and visitor service. Recommendations: Your guided tours can begin at the location of your choice: in Kassel's Kulturbahnhof, at the Museum Fridericianum, or at the Ottoneum. For guided tours, you should plan at least one hour per exhibition venue. Larger objects, such as backpacks, must be stored in the checkroom (these are in the entrance areas of all the exhibition spaces). Meeting point: The meeting point for guided group tours is Untere Karlsstrasse, opposite of "Dock 4". Here you will find the office for guided tours and visitor service, the press office and a small bar where groups can meet, have drinks, snacks and just relax. Larger groups (up to 80 people) can be served if booked in advance. We can also fulÞll any special catering needs you may have. Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and other times when booked in advance.
