Le Parc de la Villette is an independent public organisation which programmes cultural events in different spaces devoted to exhibitions and shows, focussing on a close relationship between art, culture and society with particular emphasis on new artistic expressions, young artists and the renewal of popular art forms. A particularly important event is Les Rencontres des Cultures Urbaines taking place annually in the autumn since 1996 focused on new expressions and art forms usually generated by young people living in urban areas. Parc de la Villette will involve the following partners in the project: Le Phoenix in Valenciennes, LU in Nantes, Le Maillon in Strasbourg, Le Chorégraphiques in Tours and Centre Culturel Européen du pays d'Ambert.
