The violence, destructive and misogynistic bio-politics in the camp, which systematically attacked the reproductive health of the female prisoners, and at the same time factored out their sexual specificity, also turned the prisoners against each other, resulting in profound trauma and long years of silence from the women about their experience on Goli Otok. The patriarchal response of society to the trauma of women and the attitudes of the former prisoners themselves, who felt shame about what they went through, means, according to a number of female researchers, that women are still not equally represented in the public discourse about totalitarian violence in Yugoslavia.
The artistic production is focused on research into, devising and producing a project that takes up the issue of the women in captivity on Goli Otok and Sveti Grgur. The objective is to open up a new form of coming to terms with a space of de-humanisation, through research and the establishment of women’s memory of the traumatic past through a site-specific artistic intervention. The intervention consists of visual pointing of the most critical points of women’s memory / trauma on the island as a form of a lasting “monument”, and live performances at the intersection of spaces, movements, instrumental and vocal articulation.

Nasilna, destruktivna i mizogina biopolitika u logoru, koja je sustavno napadala i na reproduktivno zdravlje kažnjenica, te isključivala njihove spolne specifičnosti, i u isto vrijeme okretala zatvorenice jedne protiv drugih rezultirala je dubokom traumom i dugogodišnjom šutnjom žena o golootočkom iskustvu. Društvo koje je patrijarhalno prema ženskoj traumi, ali i same zatočenice koje su osjećale stid zbog onoga što su prošle, prema više istraživačica niti danas nisu ravnopravno prisutne u javnom diskursu o totalitarnom nasilju u Jugoslaviji.
Umjetnička produkcija fokusirana je na istraživanje, osmišljavanje i izradu projekta koji se bavi pitanjem žena zatočenih na Golom otoku i Sv. Grguru. Cilj je otvoriti novi oblik suočavanja s prostorom dehumanizacije kroz istraživanje i uspostavljanja ženske memorije na traumatičnu prošlost kroz site-specific umjetničku intervenciju. Intervencija se sastoji od vizualnog punktiranja najbitnijih točaka ženske memorije/traume na otoku kao oblik trajnog „spomenika“, te žive izvedbe/performansa na sjecištu prostora, pokreta, instrumentalne i vokalne artikulacije.
